Two of Tohoku’s premier winter destinations—Hoshino Resorts NEKOMA Mountain in Fukushima and Zao Onsen Ski Resort in Yamagata—have joined forces across prefectural borders to launch the “Tohoku Deep Trail” project!
Both destinations are official partners of the global IKON PASS. Separated by just about a 2-hour drive, the synergy is undeniable—last season, nearly half of the IKON PASS holders visiting NEKOMA Mountain also hit the slopes at Zao. Now, connecting these two powder hubs is easier than ever.

Famous worldwide for its iconic “Snow Monsters” (Juhyo/frost-covered trees) and historic, 1,900-year-old hot spring village with rich acidic sulfur waters.
Home to NEKOMA Mountain, one of Japan’s largest mega-resorts spanning both sides of Mt. Bandai, renowned for micro-climate ultra-fine powder and expansive terrain.

The highlight of this collaboration is the debut of direct shuttle buses connecting Zao and Aizu Bandai, eliminating the hassle and stress of driving on icy winter roads.
