From February 6 to 8, 2026, “The Uninvited Japan Open presented by YETI,” a rider-led festival leading the global snowboarding scene, was held at Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain. This event is the world’s premier street-style competition, shining a spotlight on female riders who have historically lacked opportunities to showcase their skills.
What is “THE UNINVITED”? — A “revolution” that defied industry norms.
“THE UNINVITED” is a global platform founded in 2017 by professional snowboarder Jess Kimura to address the gender gap in snowboarding. By providing a stage where female riders, often relegated to supporting roles, can take center stage and fully showcase their talents, it has supported the careers of many riders.
The JAPAN OPEN, the Japanese edition of this event, was held for the first time.
